#733 - PSALMS 3:3 // PROVERBS 3:7-8

But you, O Lord, are a shield about me, my glory, and the lifter of my head. Psalms 3:3

Be not wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord, and turn away from evil. It will be healing to your flesh and refreshment to your bones. Proverbs 3:7-8

Heavenly Father…I praise and worship you as my shield—you’re my protector, my guard, my refuge, my safety, and my defender. From physical, emotional, spiritual, and mental attacks of the enemy—you are my Shield. Help me Lord to be more consumed by and aware of the Shield that you are to me than the arrows that are being flung my way. I praise and worship you Lord as my glory. You are the One in whom I find my value, worth, and identity. I am glorious because you are glorious in me! It’s not my work, not my skills, not my relationships, not the affirmation of others that give me glory. It’s you and you alone in whom my glory is found! And finally, Lord I praise and worship you as the lifter of my head. When I am down, I don’t have to lift my head towards you in my own strength. You lift my head. You show me joy. You help me to focus on and see the things you desire me to see.

Help me father not to believe the wisdom I have and the wisdom you have given me to this point in my life and the wisdom that is available to me in the world is sufficient for living a wise life. Help me not to be wise in my own eyes. My vision is limited. My knowledge is small. What I perceive to be true, right, and good is not the full picture. And as I humble myself before you, fear you, and turn from evil, please refresh my body. May humility bring my physical healing in all the ways my body and bones need it. I pray all of this in Jesus name…Amen.
