#438 - PSALM 21:8-13
Your hand will find out all your enemies; your right hand will find out those who hate you. You will make them as a blazing oven when you appear. The LORD will swallow them up in his wrath, and fire will consume them. You will destroy descendants from the earth, and their offspring from among the children of man. Though they plan evil against you, though they devise mischief, they will not succeed. For you will put them to flight; you will aim at their faces with your bows. Be exalted O LORD, in your strength! We will sing and praise your power.
Psalm 21:8-13
ADORE
"Be exalted O LORD, in your strength! We will sing and praise your power." I am so thankful to you God for being strong and mighty. You are not a god who is weak and frail, but instead, you are a God who is in control of all things! You are the Creator of the heavens and the earth, you are the Sustainer of all living things, you are the Judge, and you are my Heavenly Father! I praise and worship you for your strength that gives me such comfort in my weakness.
ADMIT
"For you will put them to flight; you will aim at their faces with your bows." I confess that there are times when I take aim at the faces of your enemies with my "bows." Forgive me for taking matters into my hands which I should not be taking. Forgive me for playing a role that only you should play. Forgive me for trying to defend you with words and actions that have not been filled with grace, truth, and love. In those moments, I am not drawing people towards you, I am drawing them away from you.
ASPIRE
"Though they plan evil against you, though they devise mischief, they will not succeed." Give me the ability to rest in your strength. Give me the capacity to trust you to thwart the plan of your enemies. Help me not to be too anxious about those who are in opposition to you. Help me to become a man who is acutely aware of your power and ability and help me to live daily as if I serve a God who is in complete control. (Because I do!) I pray all of this in Jesus name, Amen.
