Today, I heard Rick Warren mention the above quote in a podcast.

For the rest of my life, I want this to be a character trait I that cultivate—a refusal to retaliate.

I refuse to retaliate when I’m wronged. I refuse to retaliate when I’m misunderstood. I refuse to retaliate when I don’t get my way.

Not because I’m a pushover. Not because I’m lazy. Not because I’m apathetic.
